A Message to Desperate Writers
Once upon a time, successful people understood how a system works, its regulations and rules, worked hard, played it smart, and enjoyed decent earnings at the end of the month.
Then there are the desperate failures who were ignorant and disconnected from the reality of the game. They did little work, expected everyone to praise their effort, and hoped for a decent income. Still, throughout history, nothing happened to these people, and they ended nowhere but as a record in some books that count human populations.
Medium is a fantastic platform to write, connect and earn money; however, it’s crowded and built on the internet. At the same time, it’s a marketplace for writers to compete for attention as long as they follow the guidelines.
I have shared an article about my earnings on Medium and how I get followers. However, I have been accused of being unethical and not following the guidelines.
One of my strategies is to clap for many people, and some follow me back. The people who accuse me say that I did not follow the guidelines, which are:
1. Performing a disproportionately large number of interactions, particularly by automated means. This includes bulk or indiscriminate interactions, such as following other accounts (follow spam), clapping, highlighting, or leaving notes.
