How Do You Discover New Writers on Medium?

I often receive emails from new writers asking for help on how to promote their content and profile on Medium; somehow, they can’t figure out how to put themselves in front of an audience and be more discoverable.

This issue is one of the biggest problems why many talented writers give up writing on Medium. They can’t get any attention. Creators have egos; it’s pretty understandable; they like others to see their work and engage with them; lack of discoverability produces lack of confidence and discipline for many creators, especially the young ones.

I think we, as experienced writers, should offer these new seeds guidance and help them to find their audience. I need all of us to work together and reverse engineer how we find new talented writers.

I can tell a talented writer by the way they write a headline; an honest writer thinks of expressing their thoughts simply and directly instead of creating a shiny headline, they believe it’s dishonest or misleading clickbait, so if they want to talk about trust, Instead of writing a headline that says “how to make doubtful people follow you blindly.” They say, “Trust.”

Sadly only saying trust doesn’t make your title clear or exciting enough for someone to click. Always consider selling the most extreme outcome of your article in the title. It’s not a…
