How Much Should Medium Pay You to Write Daily?

Okay, I know that most of you are here not for the money; you are here to inspire and help; I believe that all of you will leave your daily jobs and write here for free to serve the world better. ;P

Come on, even though we all want to help, we still find it good to earn some money to pay the bills while assisting others. Am I wrong??

Many new writers come to Medium with extremely unrealistic hopes of making money; they want to make six figures right off the bat. The truth is it isn’t their mistake to have such fluffy dreams; it’s the mistake of some big names here that promote online courses to earn a decent living on Medium with average effort.

Today, I want us to get personal, come closer to my ear, and whisper the ideal monthly paycheck you wish to receive from Medium to become a severe writer here. However, let’s also be practical; tell me, how many hours are you willing to put in daily to achieve that number and turn Medium into a professional daily job?

As many may know, I started Medium as a side project to find ways for professionals to earn money writing. I aim to make a minimum of $30K to $50K annually on Medium after twelve to eighteen months of giving eight hours to Medium daily.
