Are you a successful person? Pause for a second and consult your ego; ask it with no shame. Am I a successful person? If the answer is yes or no, your ego is too confident and gets the whole idea of success wrong. If the answer was I don’t know, then you got the correct type of ego in your head.

Many people talk boldly and loudly about success and achieving greatness without defining what success means to them and what it is they want to be successful at precisely.

Am I a successful business person? Maybe, to some point, I had some financial success, but that question wasn’t quite specific, and we should reframe it as am I a successful business person in the world of business? Now the answer to this question differs completely.

If I compare myself to ordinary people, I’m a big success. Still, if I compare my results to the accomplishment of Apple’s CEO Tim Cook, my success is only a tiny dot in his impressive success record.
