How to Never Give Up on Your Biggest Goals
For the last eighteen months, I have been trying to learn how to do a handstand; even though I bought every online course and hired a personal trainer to assist me, I still couldn’t do it.
Not until two days ago was I able to do a six seconds handstand, which I thought was a big success. All the courses I bought promised me that in thirty to ninety days, I would be able to do thirty seconds handstand, but the reality is that it took me over eighteen months to do six seconds.
On the surface, it all looks simple and easy; however, to do a handstand, even for a couple of seconds, requires a lot of upper arms and forearms strength, shoulders and wrists flexibility, and stability, that doesn’t count the countless hours to balance on your hands. It’s not easy at all!
My goal has always been to have a fit and strong body through calisthenics, and even though I started working out at the relatively old age of thirty-one, I decided to stick to my goal and exercise six days a week for the last five years.
I had many days that I wanted to quit; other days, I was bored and not excited, and some days, I was lazy, but regardless of how I felt, I got up and did the workout anyway.
The reason why most people can’t achieve any goal is that they don’t have a goal. They have fluffy hopes…
