Be a Narcissist to Be Rich
I’m an extreme narcissist; I admit it; my ex-girlfriend used to tell me that I should bang the mirror or marry myself, my dad has been calling me a peacock for decades, and it doesn’t bother me; I praise myself more than anyone else I know. Sometimes I praise myself to the point that I can’t listen to myself anymore.
Most of you believe in humility and toning it down when talking about yourselves. I lived in China for fourteen years, and the most I saw in Chinese people was being too humble to the point that I lacked the confidence to appreciate the other person because their reaction always reflected denial of my appreciation.
In the east, toning yourself down symbolizes humility; although I respect it, sometimes it feels fake and unrealistic. Why not just say thank you, I appreciate it!
If you are into excessive humility, today I will challenge you that your approach to dealing with praising yourself stops you from achieving what you deserve in this crowded society.
