I appreciate your comment, Tony. May I ask about the definition of quality and who gets to decide what is good quality writing from a lousy one? I agree that quality matters but then I bet a new subscriber is also interested in the wealth and the amount of information they get on Medium for their money. Quality for me is a tough topic to define, everyone including myself is biased toward a specific style and quality standards. I do believe that each platform attracts a specific kind of reader whose taste matches the standard of quality of that platform and over time the platform refines its standard to attract more of those readers.
