I appreciate your response, Tony. There is nothing against raising the bar yet producing more content does give the platform more opportunity to pick, filter and promote better quality work. It gives the platform a bigger chance to analyze more data, understand readers' patterns, create better quality standards and attract more readers.

I do read some content here from top writers whom Medium treats as authority writers and gives them the chance to boost others' work. Some of their work is about money and entrepreneurship yet in the world of entrepreneurship their ideas lack practicality and are only plans on paper. Is their work considered quality writing that should be incentivized? Should others follow their path to get an extra boost?

Writers who write more content are more committed to the platform and keep subscribing. For the incentive, I'm not sure how this system works and who gets to decide which work to incentivize. I believe this is still a grey area for many writers here and I'm sure you are aware of this struggle.

Many writers here mention that they are here because of the quality of the community and relationships. They get to write and their friends get to respond kindly. Many write more to get more engagement and earn extra money. If they can earn a little more than they spend they are still subscribing and I believe their subscriptions make up a big chunk of Medium earnings. The reason they do that is because the standard of quality is undetermined, and when things are undefined people start to speculate.

When writers write quality work over and over but their stuff doesn't get boosted or get a little attention they head for easy ways. That's not because they are lousy writers, it's because they have no idea what works and what doesn't. I wouldn't blame them for taking that route. Providing clear directions and following through with unbiased standards is the job of the platform and it's extremely hard. I appreciate you, and your patience. Have a wonderful day 😊
