I enjoyed this article pretty much. I think it got a lot of insights that I agree with. However, there is a minor point that I respectfully disagree with; I believe that most people work for money, and bloggers do that too.
Not thinking about money or not looking at one's earnings assumes that the writer is only writing for pleasure, just like a painter painting for fun, which is fine if they don't worry about paying the bills.
But in my humble opinion, that is not how things work in reality; looking at earnings and numbers motivates hungry writers to write better content; it sharpens their focus on writing stories around topics people find attractive.
It teaches them the reality of the market and the concept of demand and supply, which is pretty good to learn early on in their writing career.
I think that money is a metric that provides feedback for the writer regarding their writing and marketing efforts.
