I find it very hard to work in a coffee shop; I get distracted all the time. Right now, I'm in a coffee shop writing this comment and am constantly distracted by people's movement and noise. However, I love heading to coffee shops to observe people, maybe play some soft music, and relax with a cup of Americano. It sounds like you had a great mother-daughter time.
