I wonder if someone visits someone's else house, and the host asks them to take off their shoes kindly, would they say Oh, I love my shoes, and I don't like to take them off? When writers submit their work to any publication, they are the guest of that publication. The publication has the right to edit the work in a way that better fits the standard of the publication. The writer can always withdraw their piece and publish it somewhere else. Not being able to invest in a professional writing tool isn't a decent excuse. Until this day, I don't take for granted any piece I publish with you; you know that I give you full permission to edit my work because I trust you have the skills to make it great. We are not God, and what we write are not God’s spoken words; why all the insecurities and taking ourselves too seriously? It's an article on Medium, for God's sake; chill, people! Hobbyists are free to stick to their sloppy writing; that's their choice; keep doing what you are doing, my friend 👍
