I've always been more of a "capture the scenery, not the people" kind of photographer. Lately, I've even been skipping the camera and just soaking it all in. As for your point about photographing kids in less affluent countries, it's complex. Some might seem happy to be photographed. If a photographer is cashing in big on such images, it would only be fair to give something back or at least contribute to those less fortunate communities.
