Natalie, that's a great question. I have to answer it transparently; I'm not a big fan of publications at this stage of my growth. I have observed many accounts publish with publications daily but with no noticeable increase in followers.
I have no patience in waiting for the approval of my articles as I need to publish daily. I look at the bottom line, which is getting attention and read-time. I do the marketing on my behalf by clapping and commenting; they seem to be effective for now.
Most publications that publish articles for writers at my level tend to be small and don't drive massive growth. From time to time, some publications invite me to add my already published articles to their feed, and I never say no. However, I rarely see a big jump.
I'm measuring commenting this month as many people say it's one of the best strategies to grow an account, but I'm finding that not entirely accurate.
I will write more at the beginning of the following month in my monthly report. I hope this answers some questions, and if not, let me know how I can help more.
