Stupidity is one of the human attributes, be it a parent or not parents; parents are human, and they do stupid things as well; many parents don't know how to educate their kids, and therefore they do things that seem silly on the surface, but they might have thought of it differently from their experience. I have no kids yet, but I would be more than okay to admit that I do stupid things all time
