What a memorable and slightly harrowing experience that must have been!

…arents were gone and we were alone. When we approached the door I realized I had left my key inside. So, we had to kick the door open to get in. (Yes, one push and one kick was what it needed.) We spent two nights with a half-open, broken door, propped with a chair from the inside. It’s a good thing that Plovdiv is a peaceful town, so we didn’t end up with our throats slit and eerie inscriptions scratched with blood over our heads.
