Why Sophisticated People Are Broke Idiots

A couple of weeks ago, while I was standing in the busy Istanbul international airport waiting to get through security check, a person came from another entrance, cut the line, and stood in front of me. My assistant and I were almost standing for twenty minutes, and that action seemed pretty rude; however, I didn’t care, I travel for business a lot, and these things happen all time.

The guy who stood in front of the rude guy seemed to be a heavy reader; he held a thick book in his left and a handbag in his right, which I was guessing with another couple of books inside.

He immediately jumped at the other guy and screamed. We all stood in line for twenty minutes; go back; when will you people learn how to follow the rules? When will you people become civilized? when will you, when will you ….. you know the rest of the story.

Not until the rude guy, who looked like he was from a poor neighborhood, told him to shut up and mind his business. He said precisely, “What the fuck do you care for? Shut your mouth up and keep moving,” then went into a hands fight. The security came in and asked the educated guy what was happening; he said that the idiot crossed the line and didn’t go back to the beginning of the line.
